Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint Conducted In Clark County
Captain John W. Elliott, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Clark County by Troop B officers.
On June 6, 2008, members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Clark County Sheriff’s Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint. The checkpoint was held on U.S. Highway 61, south of the Iowa border.
As a result of the checkpoint, two individuals were arrested for driving while intoxicated, two drug arrests were made, three individuals were cited for non-moving violations, two individuals were cited for driver’s license violations, and 18 warnings were issued.
“Sobriety checkpoints like these are very important in keeping our highways a safer place to travel,” stated Captain Elliott. “Cooperation with other local law enforcement agencies and citizens are vitally important in making our highways safe.”
