60 GOOD PINTS OF BLOOD AT THE DRIVE
The St Francisville Lodge #588 of Wayland sponsored blood drive was held Thursday 18 September 2008 at the Kahoka Christian Church with 60 pints of blood being collected. Our goal was 77 – so we were short 17 pints. Thank you donors for taking time out of your busy schedule to donate a pint of blood.
Dolores Tramel was a first time donor with Susan Selway receiving a 3 gal. pin; Mira Griffin, 6 gal. pin; and Armand Allard a 7 gal. pin. Robert Grant, John Winkelman, Pearl Sanders and Alan Ludwick were DOUBLE RED DONORS.
Volunteers providing assistance at the drive were Lucille Brunk, Doris Krueger, Joanne Ragan and Kathy Heinze, escorting and greeting the donors. Helping load and unload the necessary equipment for the drive were Eddie Wilson, Daryll Calvert and Jerry Webber.
Congratulations to Carol Nimmo winner of the $50.00 Ayerco Gas Card.
The ladies of St Michaels Catholic Church were hostess and provided lunch for the Red Cross staff and volunteers, cookies and bread for the sandwiches. Sandwich fillings was furnished by the Daughters of Isabell of St Patrick Catholic Church, United Methodist Church women’s fellowship of Wayland Methodist Church furnished the soda and the Sausage trays furnished by the Kahoka Deli.
