Farm City Night Scheduled For February 21

Farm City Night Scheduled For February 21

The Clark County Extension Council is in the process of finalizing plans for the 24th Farm/City Night, which is scheduled for Saturday, February 21st, at the Clark County Middle School in Kahoka.

The evening will begin with a free soup and sandwich supper, provided and served by Clark County Farm Bureau from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. For dessert, Clark County Family and Community Education club members will serve cookies provided by Clark County 4-H club members. Also at this time, Clark County businesses and organizations will have displays set up for viewing by the public.

The program will begin at 7:00 p.m. with entertainment by the Clark County R-1 Jazz Band, under the direction of Robert Dooley. Following the music will be Craig Grothe, a humorist and farmer. Craig Grothe started entertaining 12 years ago as a hobby, putting together humorous programs for local organizations. In the past four years speaking has outgrown the hobby stages; he has spoken to organizations in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, Kansas, Nebraska, Oregon, Texax, and Louisiana, both agriculture and non agriculture. His programs are primarily humor with the intention of leaving a lasting message to each guest. Craig believes that challenges are opportunities that will soon be turned into success.

Each year local and area businesses provide financial support and numerous door prizes for this event. Farm/City Night is free of charge and open to the public.
