CCR-1 Taking Steps To Prevent Flu Spread
CCR-1 Taking Steps To Prevent Flu Spread
Submitted by CCR-1 Supt. Ritchie Kracht
Clark County R-1 School District is taking steps to prevent the spread of the swine flu and other diseases. Students are being taught the importance of washing hands regularly, covering their nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing, and avoiding touching their eyes, nose and mouth. Teachers have been asked to make sure each student washes their hands prior to eating lunch or snacks.
Our custodians in the buildings have a disinfecting schedule to follow. They will regularly disinfect items in the buildings with which students and staff come into contact, including but not limited to, water fountains, restroom sink faucet handles, student desks, office counter tops, office phones, door handles, and computer keyboards.
Parents are urged to reinforce with their children on what they can do to prevent the spread of the flu or other diseases. Students and staff must stay home when they have a fever (100 or above) or have flu like symptoms. Students or staff with a fever at school will be sent home. Students and staff must be fever free for a minimum of 24 hours prior to returning. The school will do everything it can to prevent the spread of the swine flu and other diseases. It is also the responsibility of each student and staff member in our school to follow the guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to take steps as individuals to mitigate the opportunity for the swine flu and other diseases to spread.
