Vote for New Courthouse Fails

Clark County voters rejected both ballot measure to fund a new courthouse in last Tuesday’s election.  Voters had been asked to approve both a property tax increase and a sales tax increase to fund the $4 million dollar proposed project.  Both measures failed in every precinct of the county.
The sales tax question fell 648-860, while the bond issued lost 631-898.
For those in favor of replacing the 138 year old structure, it’s back to the drawing board.  The Clark County Commissioners are planning to meet with the courthouse committee next week to determine their next step/
