McKee To Run For State Representative Seat

Neill McKee of Kahoka has announced his candidacy for the office of Missouri First District State Representative.  McKee will be seeking to replace Brian Munzlinger, who has reached the end of his term limit.
McKee is a registered pharmacist operating pharmacies in both Clark and Scotland Counties, as well as owning other businesses.  He was instrumental in several local projects, including the Clark County Veterans’ Memorial, C.A.R.E. Building and Roller Rink, Clark County Senior Center, improvements at the Clark County Nursing Home, the new residential care facility, the high school field house, pre-k building, Clark County Jail, Twin Lakes Golf Course and others.
McKee grew up on a rural Illinois farm.  McKee graduated from Drake University in 1968.  Prior to pharmacy school, he served as a hospital corpsman in the United States Navy.  McKee served out an unexpired term on the Warsaw, Illinois, city council, and was a Warsaw volunteer fireman for 10 years.  He served on the Clark County Nursing Home board, and as a low income representative for the Northeast Missouri Community Action Agency. He has been involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters
He has been a businessman in northeast Missouri for nearly 25 years.  He has helped coach baseball, local basketball, Y basketball and a Babe Ruth team.  He and his wife, Lois, have funded scholarships to three different colleges and universities.
“My decision to run comes after several years of observing the legislative process,” McKee said.  “I think som of my ideas would have been worthy of consideration.  I have business and professional skills that could be applied to the day to day work that goes on in Jefferson City.  I would very much like the opportunity to share my ideas with other lawmakers to help find sensible solutions concerning current issues such as health care, agriculture, economic development and education.  I am confident that, given the chance, I can bring common sense and integrity to the table, no matter what the issue, doing so from a reasonable conservative view.  As I always have been, I will continue to be accessible the those I serve.”
