Luray Woman’s Lottery Luck Helps Banish Bills

Anna Herring of Luray was “surprised and very happy” when she logged onto her home computer to check the Mega Millions numbers from the April 12 drawing. The 46-year-old office manager used Quick Pick to match all four white-ball numbers and the Megaball.
“I checked, and it came up $10,000,” she recalled. “I thought I did something wrong. No matter how many times I checked, it always came up the same.”
The first-time Lottery winner said she was “in shock pretty much” when she finally realized she had won.
The windfall “couldn’t have come at a better time” for Herring and her husband of 23 years, Mike, who plan to use the prize money to “make things a little less stressful.”
“It’s going to come in and go out pretty quick,” she noted. “We’ve already got it all figured out.”
Herring, who added that the winnings will go towards “bills and vehicle repairs,” purchased her Mega Millions ticket at Casey’s General Store, 110 N. Clay St., in Memphis. The winning numbers from the April 12 drawing were: 10, 23, 39, 41 and 45. The Megaball was 15.
