Persistent DWI Offender Receives 15 Year Sentence
A Clark County man will spend up to 15 years in prison following his conviction and sentencing of driving while intoxicated.
Ritchie Mathes, 56, was convicted in jury trial in June, and sentenced Thursday by Judge Gary Dial. Mathes’ record of prior DWI arrests, as well as failure to pay child support, made him eligible for the persistent offender status.
Clark County Prosecutor John Moon asked for a 25 year sentence.
Mathes was arrested May 14, 2010, when he was stopped on Mo. 136 near Wayland.
Other sentencings released by Moon’s office include:
Lori Alise Palmer, 54, Bonaparte, Iowa. Sentenced to 3 years for DWI, a class C felony.
Jaron Markel Greene, 20, Kansas City, MO. Sentenced to two years for burglary in the second degree.
Joshua Lee Brunk, 33, Kahoka, MO. Sentenced to 11 years for manufacturing a controlled substance, a class B felony. Brunk was also sentenced to a seven year term for unlawful possession of a firearm. The sentences are to run consecutively.
Derek Alexander Westwater, 26, Ft. Wayne, IN. Sentenced to seven years for attempting to manufacture a controlled substance, a class B felony.
Jack W. Skinner, 44, Keokuk, IA. Sentenced to three years for DWI, a class C felony.
