Running Fox Not Ready Yet
Running Fox Not Ready Yet
By Mike Scott
Despite more than a week of professional mold cleaning,
Running Fox Elementary School is not ready to re-open yet.
On Friday afternoon, September 9, CCR-1 Superintendent
Ritchie Kracht reported that air quality samples in Running Fox still showed
mold in excess levels.
“Two of the rooms are above the limit, and others are
borderline,” he said. On Thursday,
Kracht told the school board members that all rooms were being tested, and that
he hoped to be able to open Running Fox next week.
“I just got the call from the hygienist,” Kracht said. “He said they need to do more cleaning and
test again. I would expect they’ll be
working over the weekend.”
The mold cleanup, which has temporarily closed both
elementary schools, is being done by Servicemaster by Lewellen, from
Kirksville, at a cost of $96,000.
