Arson Ruled Cause of Wayland Fire

A large fire destroyed a vacant building in Wayland on Wednesday evening, May 30.  Firefighters from Wayland, Clark County Rural, Alexandria and Revere responded to the blaze. The cause of the fire has been determined to be arson. (above photo by Ed Wilson)

 

The Clark County Sheriff Office received a report of a building on fire in Wayland on May 30, 2012 at approximately 2215 hours.

The Wayland Fire Department responded to the call, then requested aid from  the Clark County Rural Fire Department, Alexandria Fire Protection District, teh Revere Fire Department.

All fire departments responded to the fire.

After several hours the fire was extinquished, but the building a complete loss.  The buildings next door to the fire received some smoke and water damage.

The State Fire Marshall responded and the fire is still under investigation.  At this point, it is ruled as an arson but no details are available at this time.
