Large Crowd Enjoys 28th Annual Farm/City Night

The Clark County Extension Council hosted the 28th annual Farm/City Night on Saturday, February 16, at the CCR-1 Middle School in Kahoka MO.  Clark County Farm Bureau served a soup and sandwich supper at 4:30 p.m., with many enjoying the delicious meal.
Debby Whiston, Clark County Extension Program Director awarded a certificate of appreciation to the Clark County Farm Bureau for their service to the community. She thanked the 4-H Clubs for the cookies and the FCE members for their assistance with the evening.  Whiston also provided a certificate of appreciation to the Mark Lemmon and Dan Oilar and the Clark County FFA Chapter for assisting with Farm/City Night. Leaders Honor Roll recipients for outstanding contributions to University of Missouri Extension were presented to Anita Arnold and Steve Yates.  The local newspapers were also recognized for their contributions to University of Missouri Extension.  Receiving Leaders Honor Roll designation were Mike Scott from the Media and Ashley Justice from the Hometown Journal.   Century Farms designation was presented to Joe and Ann Edlen.
The program was provided by the World Bird Sanctuary from St. Louis, Missouri.  The crowd was delighted as birds of prey swooped down over their heads for an up-close look at each bird.  The highlight was a bald eagle with its expansive wing span and majestic appearance.
Many local businesses, organizations and banks provided displays   The Extension Council is grateful for the community support in planning and preparation for Farm/City Night.  Whiston provided special recognition to those businesses providing cash donations to make the program possible and thanked local businesses for the many door prizes.
The Clark County Extension Council and staff would like to thank all those who provided assistance and helped make Farm/City Night a success.

Century Farm-The Joe and Ann Edlen Farm was recognized as a Missouri Century Farm at Farm/City Night on Saturday, February 17. Their farm has been in the same family for more than 100 years.
