13th Annual Family Fun In The Park To Be Held June 28 at O-MAK-O-HAK
Members of the Clark County Wellness Coalition met to finalize plans for the 13th annual summer heart health walk. The event, scheduled for Friday, June 28, 2013 will be held at the O-Mak-O-Hak Park during the hours of 4-6 p.m. Activities for all ages will be taking place for this “Family Fun in the Park” day. The first 75 registered participants ages 13 and over will receive a free T-shirt. Walk the paved trail at your leisure or enjoy our beautiful park. Would you like to win a trampoline, Nintendo Wii, or a new bicycle? After walking the trail, individuals will have an opportunity to be placed in a drawing for the item of their choice. Must register and must be present to win. There will be a basketball free throw contest with 5 age categories, jump rope contest, volleyball, tennis, kickball, whiffleball and frisbees will be available . Free walking tacos, watermelon slices, water and lemonade will be provided. Members of the Wellness Coalition put together this annual event. The Wellness Coalition represents the Clark County Health Department, University of Missouri Extension, Chamber of Commerce, school administration and nurses, local physicians, Family Services, Ministerial Alliance, CARE, City of Kahoka, and local volunteers. The mission of the Coalition is to improve nutrition and physical activity access and habits throughout Clark County. This event is funded by the Missouri Foundation for Health. Coalition members and Health Department staff will be on hand to greet you, assist with registration, activities, and serve tacos.
