Gov. Nixon appoints new Clark County Circuit Clerk
JEFFERSON CITY – Gov. Jay Nixon has appointed Sharon Kay Biggerstaff, of Kahoka, as the new circuit clerk for Clark County. The position became vacant upon the resignation of former circuit clerk Mary D. Jones.
Biggerstaff, a Democrat, has served as the manager of the multi-county child support enforcement office under the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office since 1994. The office serves Adair, Clark, Knox, Lewis, Schuyler and Scotland counties. Prior to that, she was office manager for the Clark County child support enforcement office from 1988 to 1994. Biggerstaff is a past member of the Clark County R-1 School Board.
“The position of circuit clerk is one of great responsibility for the efficient administration of our circuit courts,” Gov. Nixon said. “Sharon Kay Biggerstaff brings a great deal of experience from her work managing a multi-county child support enforcement office to this position, and I am confident she will capably serve the people of Clark County.”
