Kahoka Pastor and Wife Injured In Memphis Accident

Pastor Charles Hammack, 79, who serves the Kahoka Presbyterian Church, and his wife, Helen, 78, were seriously injured in a two vehicle accident on Highway 136 near Memphis on Friday morning.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, a 2006 Jeep Liberty driven by James L. Clair, 84 of Memphis crossed the center line and struck Hammack’s vehicle, a 1997 Buick Park Avenue, nearly head on.

All three parties were transported to Scotland County Hospital. Reverend Hammock was later transferred to Blessing Hospital in Quincy. Unconfirmed reports say that he has been transferred either to Iowa City or Columbia.
