Indians Name New Head Football Coach

Clark County R-1 Schools is pleased to announce the promotion of assistant coach Ethan Allen to the position of head varsity football coach. Allen is a 2014 graduate of the Truman State University Masters in Education program where he was a five year member of the football team. Coach Allen played both quarterback and wide receiver for the Bulldogs. This past year, he served as an assistant coach to the recently departed Scott Murdock.

Additionally, the District has reached an agreement with current Hannibal assistant Bryan Plenge to return to Clark County as the football team’s defensive coordinator. Plenge is a 2013 graduate of Central Methodist University where he was a four year performer at defensive back. The past two seasons, he has served as an assistant to Hannibal coach Mark St. Clair.

Both recent hires are 2009 CCR-1 graduates and members of the District’s 2008 Class 2 state title team serving under former Clark County head coaches Matt Smith and Quentin Hamner.
