Galloway announces audit of Village of Luray

Audit requested by citizens through petition process

JEFFERSON CITY (July 17, 2015) Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway has announced the start of an audit of the Village of Luray, located in Clark County.

“The people of Luray have requested this audit and my office has begun a thorough review of government operations and procedures,” Galloway said. “I look forward to reporting audit results and recommendations for the Village of Luray and its residents.”

Municipal audits may be initiated through a petition process or by request of the governor. The Village of Luray audit was initiated through the petition process, which allows citizens to request an audit of their local government by submitting the required number of registered voter signatures. For the Village of Luray audit, 14 valid signatures were required. Petitioners submitted 16 signatures, which were verified as valid by the Clark County Clerk.
