Two Perish In Kahoka House Fire

Kahoka firefighters were called to a house fire on West Commercial Street in Kahoka at about 12:45 Friday afternoon.

The fire was reported by Kahoka City Project Manager John Williams, who was driving by and smelled the smoke and saw the front porch on fire. While he called it it, Kahoka city employee Brayton Prewitt attempted to enter the building through a back door, but was driven back by the heat.

Kahoka firefighters were assisted by the Wayland Volunteer Fire Department.
