According to Clark County Presiding Commissioner Buddy Kattelman, Miller submitted his resignation on Monday, June 4.
Missouri Governor Mike Parson will ultimately appoint Miller’s replacement.
“We have notified both the local Democrat and Republican committees,” said Kattelman. “We’d like them to make their recommendation to the governor by June 15. It can be a long process, and this is a pretty important job.”
To be considered for the position, Democrats can contact Paul Brotherton at 727-3785, and Republicans can contact Henry Dienst at 754-6470, or interested persons can contact the Governor’s office directly.
Duties of the County Public Administrator include, according to the Revisor of Statutes of the State of Missouri, taking charge of estates of deceased persons, minors, and incapacitated persons in the county in certain cases, administering oaths and affirmations in matters relating to his or her office, filing notices of estates taken charge upon to the office of the clerk of the court, and prosecuting necessary suits of estates.
