Clark Health Department Reports First Case of COVID-19

The Clark County Health Department has received confirmation of the first COVID-19 case in Clark County. The 50-60 year old Clark county resident is currently hospitalized and receiving medical care at Hannibal Regional Hospital.  We will not be releasing any further information on this patient to protect their privacy. The Clark County Health Department will be working with the individual to ensure compliance with the Department of Health and Senior Services and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines with regard to isolation and in identifying close contacts with other individuals to monitor for their symptoms. The Clark County Health Department is also working closely with the Hannibal Regional Hospital which is providing medical over sight for this individual.

The health department urges the public to take appropriate precautions including good hygiene, social distancing and limiting in-person interactions.If you are sick, particularly with a fever and a cough, or shortness of breath, stay home and contact your health care provider or urgent care center for guidance regarding symptoms and next steps.
