VIVIAN IRENE (PITFORD) KLEINE
Vivian Irene (Pitford) Kleine, 87, passed away October 24, 2020, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois from Covid pneumonia.
She was born June 24, 1933, the first daughter of Marion and Alice Pitford.
She was raised in rural Clark County.
Vivian was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and attended Sunnydale Academy in Centralia, Missouri.
She married Dillon Kleine on August 19, 1951 and began a lifetime working and enjoying their farm.
Vivian and her husband enjoyed traveling with their camper and staying at Old Threshers in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
They also enjoyed playing cards and visiting with the neighbors.
Vivian loved to fish at home and on their trips to Colorado.
She was known as an excellent cook, especially for her pies and home-made noodles.
She and her mother enjoyed running the kitchen at the local sale barn for many years.
In her later years at Clark County Nursing Home, Vivian became an avid reader and enjoyed scrambled word puzzles.
She looked forward to the fish fries and seeing the cattle while visiting the farm.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis (Peggy) Kleine of Montgomery City, Missouri, and John (Dianne) Kleine of Kahoka, Missouri; five grandchildren, John Mark Jr. (April) Kleine of North English, Iowa, Jeremy (Jamie) Kleine of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Joseph (Erica) Kleine of Saint Joseph, Mo, Rebecca (Dustin) Nuckolls of Saint Charles, Mo, and Sandra Kleine of Collierville, Tennessee; three step-grandchildren, Jessica (Bobby) Sondergaard of Garden City, Kansas, Joshua and David Dreiling of Kahoka, Mo, and 17 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her four siblings; Delores (Kenneth) Justice, Mary Howell, Virginia (Robert) Allen, and Norman (Carol) Pitford, all of Kahoka. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews will miss her smile and warmth.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 60 years, Dillon.
Due to the current health concerns, no visitation or services will be held at this time.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
