Funds available for landowners to make habitat improvements.
Kahoka, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) continues its partnership with the local Clark County Quail Forever chapter to sponsor cost-share projects for quail habitat improvements in Clark County. MDC matches chapter funds to support the Habitat Challenge Grant program. This year, four thousand dollars will be available to fund quail-friendly habitat projects.
Some of the wildlife management practices which may be eligible for funding include planting native grasses and wildflowers, edge feathering, shrub plantings, and the disking or spraying of thick grass stands.
Interested landowners should contact MDC Private Lands Conservationist John Pinkowski at 660-397-2223 ext. 117 for more information about the program.
