Inconsistent play hampered Clark County’s efforts to advance to the consolation title game of the Highland Tournament. On Thursday evening, the Indians faced Canton at Canton High School. Carter Briscoe poured in 10 points in the opening quarter, and Gabe Hunziker and Eli Elam each added three pointers. Clark County claimed the lead at the quarter, 16-13.
The Indians managed only five points in the second quarter, while Canton spread 13 points over five players. At the half, Canton led Clark County by a 26-21 margin.
Sam Wheeler scored five of Clark County’s 11 third quarter points, and the Indians took a 32-31 lead. Both teams battled to the finish. Clark County had late opportunities to score, but the shots wouldn’t drop, and the Indians fell 41-38.
Briscoe led the Indian scoring with 10 points. Eli Elam added eight points, and Wheeler scored seven points. Gabe Hunziker had five points, and Drayson Daniel added four points. Gage Winters finished with three points, and Conner Pearl added one point.
