Clark County vs. Highland
The Clark County Lady Indians dominated three quarters of their opening game in the Tony Lenzini Tournament, played last week in Palmyra. On Monday, they faced Highland.
Five Lady Indians combined for 15 points in the opening quarter, as they edged the Lady Cougars 15-14.
Clark County allowed only three Highland points in the second quarter, and took a 29-17 halftime lead.
Clark County poured in 23 points in the third quarter to pull ahead 52-29, and cruised to a 62-31 win.
Alexis Ellison had 17 points to lead Clark County. Bre Chamley added 12 points, and Brooklyn Howe and Darian Harper scored 10 each. Kiara Brunk added six points, Elly Hamner had five and Hope Ross scored two points.
Clark County vs. Monroe City
Clark County’s next tournament opponent was Monroe City.
Clark County took the first quarter 13-12, and then trailed 26-22 at the half. They stayed close in the second half, but fell 56-51.
Alexis Ellison led the Lady Indians with 17 points, Brooklyn Howe had 14, and Kiara Brunk scored nine. Bre Chamley added five points, and Hope Ross had three. Darian Harper scored two points, and Elly Hamner scored one point.
Clark County vs. Palmyra
The Lady Indians faced the host Lady Panthers of Palmyra in the third place game on Friday evening.
Clark County took an early lead and never looked back.
At the half, the Lady Indians led 32-15, and rolled to a 49-36 win.
Alexis Ellison and Brooklyn Howe scored 16 points each. Kiara Brunk added seven points, and Hope Ross and Darian Harper scored four points each. Elly Hamner added two points.
