Sewcial Quilters of Clark County awarded a Quilt of Valor to Clark County native Shawn Schorr. Shawn joined the Air Force in 1987 after graduating from Clark County High School. His assignments have been at Little Rock Air Force Base, Osan Air Base Republic of Korea, Hickman Air Force Base Hawaii, Missouri Air National Guard-St. Joseph, Missouri, and the Illinois Air National Guard-Peoria Illinois. He served our country for 33 years and achieved the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Shawn has served as an Air Transportation Specialist. During his time in the Air Force and Air National Guard, he was deployed 18 times to various parts of the world. As a result of his service, Schorr has received numerous awards. These include:

Shawn is married to Victoria Schorr (Nichols) formerly of Williamstown, Missouri. They have 2 children, Danielle and Dallas, and 2 grandchildren, Bristol and Mila. He is the son of Doug and Dorothy Schorr of Donnellson, Iowa.
The Quilt of Valor Foundation got its start in 2003, when founder Catherine Roberts had a dream of a soldier struggling, and then being comforted by a quilt. Today, over 11,000 volunteers across the country have awarded over 257,000 quilts to veterans and service members.
