E. Elaine Cooper, age 81 of Kahoka, Missouri passed away at 3:14 on July 17th, 2021 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. 

She was born on June 5, 1940 in Burlington, Iowa to Elmont and Gladys (Marlette) Smith. 

On October 19th, 1957 she was united in marriage to Ronald Cooper in Burlington, Iowa. 

She is survived by her husband Ronald, daughter Terri (Steve) Christian of Williamsburg, Iowa, son Rusty (Lori) Cooper of Burlington, Iowa. 

Grandchildren Devon (Michelle) Christian of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Katie Cooper of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Stacy Leibli of Burlington, Iowa and 6 great grandchildren. Sisters-in-law Connie McCollum and Wanda Smith both of Burlington, Iowa and several nieces, nephews, cousins and caring friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Eugene Smith, sisters Wanda Hollenbeck, Gloria Polen and infant sister Beverly Smith. 

Elaine and Ron moved to Kahoka in July of 1970 to open Cooper Hardware which they sold a few years later. 

Elaine worked several jobs in Kahoka, the last being Heetco where she retired from. 

Elaine and Ron looked forward to having coffee with friends in Kahoka. 

Anyone who knew her well, knew she had a “unique” personality. 

Elaine enjoyed camping, fishing, motorcycle riding, traveling and her flower gardens. 

She was an avid NASCAR and Green Bay Packers fan. 

She also loved to go shopping. 

But more than anything she loved spending time with family. 

Her family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the ICU staff at Blessing Hospital and all family and friends for their support. 

At Elaine’s request there will be no service.
