141st Clark County Fair Set For July 13-17

The 141st annual Clark County Fair will commence on Wednesday, July 13, at the Clark County Fairgrounds outside of Kahoka.
A $15.00 Day Pass or a $40.00 Season Ticket will be available for purchase at the gate. Children that are 10 years old or under get in for free.
There is also camping available at the fairgrounds.
The first livestock show event will kick off on Sunday, July 10, at 2:00 p.m. with the 4-H & FFA Horse Show.
On Monday, July 11, the judging of the Art Hall exhibits and Skills Showcase – performance event will begin at 3:00 p.m. In the evening, the Art Hall will be closed at 6:30 p.m. for the State Fair Selection.
Open Art Show entries will be accepted Monday for 3:00-6:00pm, or Tuesday from 8:00 – 10:00am. The exhibit will open to the public during the regular hours of the Commercial Building. There are three age groups: 12 and under, 13 thru 19, and adult. Categories are Painting-Oil, Watercolor, Charcoal, Penci-graphite/colored, Painting-Acrylic, Sculpture, Multi-Media and Photography. On Tuesday, July 12, the 4-H & FFA Dog Show will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Cat Show at 1:00 p.m. and the Critters Show at 3:00 p.m.
Free Gate Night will be on Wednesday, July 13. This night will be packed with fun activities for all ages.
At 4:30 p.m. the Clover Kids Medal Presentation will be in the Show Arena. After the presentations, the Open Bucket Calf Show will start at 5:00 p.m. and will be followed by the 4-H & FFA Goat Show.

A new event will be held at the fair this year. At 7:00 p.m., the Clark County Fair Royalty will award the titles for Little Mr. & Miss (girls & boys, ages 3-6), Junior Miss (girls, ages 7-12), Princess (girls, ages 13-16), and Queen (girls, ages 17-22). This year the Art Hall will be open for viewing on Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 1 to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Open Art Show, Clark County Fair History, Quilts of Valor, and other booths and displays will be located in the Commercial Building. The Commercial Building will be open on Wednesday and Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 2 p.m.
The Jones and Co. Carnival will also be set up with carnival rides on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. Carnival armbands are $25.00 for a four-hour period or 32 single tickets for $25.00 and each ride requires four tickets.
On Thursday, July 14, the day will start with the 4-H & FFA Swine Show at 8:00 a.m. and the Sheep Show will begin at 1:00 p.m.
At 7:00 p.m. the UTV & ATV Rodeo Challenge timed events will begin at the grandstands. For more information, you can contact Shaw Hunziker at 660-341-5541.
All veterans who attend the Clark County Fair on Friday, July 15, will be able to enter the fairgrounds for free.
Friday morning will start off with the 4-H & FFA Dairy Cattle & Beef Show at 8:00 a.m.
The entertainment for the evening will be the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League’s Truck & Tractor Pull at 7:00 p.m. For more information, you can contact Scott Gregory at 660-341-0218.
The Beer Garden Music on the Midway, will be provided by DJ, Zach Nixon at 9 p.m.
The 4-H & FFA Rabbit Show will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 16. This will be followed by the Poultry Show at 11:00 a.m.

The stockholder’s election will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Secretary’s Office below the grandstand.
The Art Hall & Livestock Awards Presentations will be held in the Show Arena and will begin at 3:30 p.m., followed by the Livestock and Art Hall Sale at 4:00 p.m.
The Demo Derby will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the grandstands, followed by singer Sunny Sweeney at 9:00 p.m. For more information about the Demo Derby, you can contact Britten Gray at 660-342-2456.
