On Wednesday, July 27, the Clark County Fire Department responded to Medill to a controlled burn that had spread to an old trailer. The call was received at 7:17pm, and fire crews were on the scene for 30 minutes.
Early in the morning on Thursday, July 28, at 2:08am, firefighters were dispatched to a truck fire southwest of St. Patrick. Once there, they found a truck on a roll-off wrecker on fire. The truck, a 2007 Dodge, had been wrecked, and ignited on a 1997 GMC roll-off wrecker. Both trucks were heavily damages. Firefighters left the scene a 3:35 am.
At 1:05pm on Thursday afternoon, the Kahoka Fire Deparment was called to MFA east of Kahoka on Old Hwy 136. Workers tearing down the old store fore a new building ignited building material. Workers were concerned the fire would damage the new truck scales that had recently been installed. Because it was a structure fire, mutual aid from the Wayland Fire Department was called, but were not needed. Firefighters left the scene at 2:13pm.
