The Clark County Indians ended their 2022 regular season with a 50-0 loss at top-ranked Class 1 powerhouse Monroe City on Friday.
The Panthers scored on their opening possession, driving 75 yards in 11 plays to take a 6-0 lead. The two-point attempt failed.
Lucus Eddleman returned the kickoff 15 yard to the 21-yardline, and the Indians gained a first down before an interception ended the drive.
With a short field, Monroe City took only two plays to score, and went up 14-0.
Clark County struggled to move the ball against a tough Panther defense, punting four more times in the first half.
Bright spots defensively for the Indians were a deflected pass that was intercepted by Eddleman, and Clint Chamley stripping the ball from Waylon DeGrave. At the half, however, Clark County trailed 22-0.
The second half was all Monroe City, as they rolled to the 50-0 win.
The Indians posted only 95 yard of total offense, versus 393 by the Panthers. Monroe City had a huge ground advantage, rolling up 333 yards against the Indian’s 38 yard total.
Austin Day led the Indian receivers with 31 yards. Wyatt Randall added 14 yards in receptions. Callan Wheeler had 20 yard rushing, and backup QB Brayen James had 37 yards late in the contest.
Clark County finished the regular season with a 4-5 record.
