Ivan Eugene Bunker
Ivan Eugene Bunker, 82, of Wever, IA died Sunday, December 25, 2022 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Ft. Madison, IA.
He was born July 4, 1940 the son of Isaac “Jake” and Martha Value Bunker in Vincennes, IA. He graduated from Revere High School with the class of 1960. During high school Ivan had the honor to play at the Mississippi Opry. After high school Ivan served his country in the United States Army. He was very proud to be a supply sergeant during the Vietnam War.
Ivan was united in marriage to Nancy Stott to this union Dennis, Daryl, and Denise were born. They later divorced. In 1991, he met the love of his life, Lois White and her son Todd Horn.
He was the owner of Bunker Paint Contractors and also owned Denmark Meat Locker where he loved butchering and smoking meat. He was also an owner to several taverns over the years where he was able to continue playing his music. He had many jobs off and on but remained faithful to playing his guitar and enjoyed entertaining people with his music.
Ivan enjoyed riding in the rodeo and barrel racing.
He is survived by his companion, Lois White, three children, Dennis Bunker, Daryl Bunker and Denise and Oscar Munguia, one step-son Todd Horn, nine grandchildren, Amy Bunker, April Dean (Daniel), Amanda Young, Danielle Allsup (Levi), Devin Bunker, Daryl Bunker “DJ” (Brooke), Alicia Munguia, Dammon Bunker and Victoria Munguia and twenty-four great grandchildren, Alexia, Ridge, Ethan, Dante, Westley, Oliver, Mason, Anastasia, Tanner, Katalina, Alaina, Hennessey, Willow, Cloie, Natalee, Jacob, Easton, Ainsley, Isaiah, Jaxx, Sailor, Dantae, Zeona, and Kidn. He is also survived by a sister, Martha Delores Kinkeade and a brother, Carl Bunker, his four-legged companion dog Duke, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, James (Dorthy) Bunker, and sister and brother-in-law, Wanda (Lawrence) Kinkeade, sister in law, Shirley Bunker and brother in law, Larry Kinkeade and five nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka. Burial with military rites will be in the Sand Cemetery in St. Francisville, MO.
Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the funeral home with the family meeting with friends at that time.
