Only 10.63 percent of Clark County’s 5252 registered voters cast their ballots in the April 4 election.
Kevin Ross, Doug James and Heather Weber Webster were reelected to the CCR-1 school board. Ross got 412 votes, James had 411 and Webster received 368 votes. Deana Hunziker-Ball received 293 votes.
Kahoka’s city council is staying the same. Mayor Tony Anderson received 169 votes. In the West Ward, Les Billings got 104, and in the East Ward, Jerry Malone topped Ruth Brotherton 41-32
Votes approved a three-percent sales tax on marijuana by a 393- 154 margin.
In Wayland, David Bunker was elected Mayor with 39 votes. Harley Hill received 23, and Connie Rae Handyside got 17 votes.
Donna Ash was the top vote-getter for Wayland Alderman with 46 votes. Anthony Arnold and Joe M Booth received 23 votes each. Sabrina Ash got 21 votes, and E. Colleen South got 17. Nathan Bartlett got 13 votes. There were two positions available.
In Alexandria, Frank Shipley got 17 votes for Mayor. Barbara Colwell for 14 votes for Alderman, and Zachary Shipley and Russell Dean Gates got 13 votes each. There are four positions available.
In Luray, Elizabeth Summers and Carolyn McClintock each received five votes for the two Alderman seats available.
Bruce Spurgeon topped Ronald Duck Gates for Wayland Special Road Distric Commissioner 84- 39. The Wayland Special Road District tax increase failed 63-60.
