 HENRY E. GRAY 

1932 -2023 

Henry E. Gray, 90 of Keokuk, IA died Sunday, May 21, 2023 at River Hills Village in Keokuk. 

He was born November 21, 1932 in Wayland, MO the son of Guerdon and Matilda Roberts Gray. 

Henry was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country in the Korean War. 

On November 26, 1955 Henry was united in marriage to Juanita Trugagas at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Keokuk. She preceded him in death on October 30, 2018. 

In the early ‘60’s Henry owned and operated Gray’s Texaco Gas Station. He later was employed by Stone Container for thirty-two years, until his retirement in 1995 and owned and cared for several rental properties through the years. 

Henry was a member of the American Legion. 

Henry loved to collect antiques and had a good eye for finding them. He and Juanita owned the Treasure And Trash Antique Store in Keokuk for several years. He also loved to purchase fixer upper homes and flip them, before flipping houses was cool. Henry enjoyed traveling and never missed an opportunity to take off on an adventure. He was a dedicated and hardworking man, whose greatest joy was spending time with his family. 

He is survived by one daughter, Vicki Ames of Keokuk, one son, Patrick Gray (Julie) of Carroll, IA, five grandchildren, Jill Seabold (Bill) of Keokuk, Jacob Ames (Michelle) of Keokuk, Matthew Ames (Ashley) of Keokuk, Blake Gray (Danielle) of Carroll, IA and Evan Gray of Carroll, IA, thirteen great-grandchildren, Ryan Seabold (Kelsey), Andrew Seabold (Gracie Briscoe), Jordan Seabold, Kayden Ames, Grayson Ames, Kenadi Ames, Kali Ames, Kamri Ames, Traven Ames, Gavin Gray, Braelynn Gray, Kallum Gray and Myah Gray and two great-great-grandchildren, Hadley and Laker Seabold. He is also survived by one daughter-in-law, Laronda “Tuffy” Boltz of Keokuk, several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Beth Clouse. 

Besides his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, one son, James Gray, one brother, Russell Gray and four sisters, Anna Carlson, Lenora Bunnell, Ethel Elefritz and Betty Clouse. 

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Friday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating. Burial with military rites will be held in the Keokuk National Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held prior to the service Friday from 10 a.m.- 12 noon at the funeral home with family meeting friends at that time.
