Clark County University of Missouri Extension Hires Wendy Ray As Nutrition Program Assistant

Wendy Ray of Kahoka, MO has been hired by the University of Missouri as a Family Nutrition Education Program Assistant. She began her duties on November 19 and will be headquartered at the Clark County Extension Office. 
The Family Nutrition Extension Program (FNEP) is grant funded by the United States Department of Agriculture to provide nutrition and physical activity education to low-income Missourians.  The main focus of the FNEP staff is working with youth primarily in schools, helping students achieve lifelong health and fitness.  The curriculum used in the school is entitled "Show-Me Nutrition," which is a hands-on approach to learning and usually includes a tasting experience for the students to introduce them to new foods.  Teachers, administrators and students alike thoroughly appreciate having the Nutrition Program Assistant’s in their schools and welcome them back year after year.  The program provides a wonderful resource to the community. 
Wendy is a graduate of CC R # 1 High School and has an Associate Degree from Southeastern Community College.  Wendy is currently working through her orientation and training and plans to be serving the schools in Clark County after the first of the year.  The University of Missouri Extension Office is located at 115 West Court, Kahoka, MO.
