The City of Kahoka is seeking to collect a total of $19,824.53 in delinquent taxes from 2005 to 2007. At a special council meeting on Wednesday, January 30, City Collector Jena Church certified that there was $8825.53 in delinquent person taxes and $10,999.32 in delinquent real estate taxes in Kahoka.
The board instructed Church to send past due notices to all persons owing as soon as possible.
The board also heard an insurance proposal from Brent Barnhill of ECCHIC Group. The option presented was for a high deductible coverage for city employees. The board will consider insurance options at its February meeting.
Mayor Herb Butler reported that two cemetery board positions and the cemetery sexton have resigned. The board will contact persons who have previously shown interest in the position.
