Manhunt Comes To An End
An extensive manhunt in a wooded area along the Clark County and Scotland County line near Mt. Sterling. came to an end near 6:PM Thursday, as the final two suspects in a day-long chase were apprehended.
One suspect had been arrested earlier in the day.
The chase started Thursday morning as a Scotland County deputy was checking the home of Chris Armstrong, who is wanted on charges related to methamphetamines.
The deputy spotted Armstrong, driving car reported stolen in Queen City, and began pusuit. Shots were fired, and at least one shot hit the patrol car.
The vehicle was later located in a field, and authorities set up a perimeter around the wooded area.
On suspect, Ken Thompson was taken into custody as he came out of the timber early in the afternoon. Chris Armstong and Michelle Brand were arrested just before 6:00PM
Several agencies, including the Clark and Scotland County Sheriff’s offices and the Missouri Highway Patrol, and the Iowa Highway patrol are involved.
At least two aircraft are also involved in the search.
