Wayland Resident Receives Royal Neighbors of America Fraternalist of the Year Award

Lola Eder of Wayland, MO has been selected as the Royal Neighbors of America Fraternalist of the Year, in recognition of her exemplary service to her community. As part of the award, Royal Neighbors will make a $1,000 donation to Friends of the Senior Center in her name.. Her name and record of service also have been submitted to the National Fraternal congress of America (NFCA) to be considered for the 2009 National Fraternalist of the Year award.
Each year, royal Neighbors members who exemplify the ideals of volunteerism and neighbor-helping-neighbor are nominated by fellow members for this award.
A 61-year member of Royal Neighbors, Lola donates her time and cooking talents to make apple butter, which is then sold by her royal Neighbors chapter to help raise funds for local organizations. Best known throughout the area as a member of the “Apple Butter Ladies,” Lola has helped earn more than $2,000 toward sending the Clark County Marching Indians to perform in places such as Hawaii and the Rose Bowl Parade.
