State Auditor Begins Audit of City of Wyaconda

The Missouri State Auditor’s office has begun an audit of the City of Wyaconda. Anyone with information or concerns may call the state auditor’s toll-free hotline at 800-347-8597. This number is equipped for the hearing impaired.
The state received petitions containing 46 signatures of registered resident voters requesting an audit of the City of Wyaconda. According to state statutes, a minimum of 46 signatures was required for the audit.
State law requires the state auditor to conduct an audit of any political subdivision if requested to do so by enough registered voters in the political subdivision. State law also provides that the entity being audited pay for the audit.State auditors have begun the information- gathering phase of the audit. When the audit is completed, the findings and recommendations may be delivered by the state auditor’s office at a public meeting.
