Snow Days Cause School Schedule Changes

Snow Days Cause School Schedule Changes

By Mike Scott

Clark County R-1 Students will be going to class until at least May 20, thanks to recent snow days.
“The last day of school was supposed to be Wednesday, May 15,” said CCR-1 Superintendent Ritchie Kracht.
Students will have class on Thursday and Friday, May 16-17, and on Monday, May 20.
In addition, students were also supposed to have Friday, March 15 off for parent-teacher conferences, but now that day they will have classes.
For the foreseeable future, busses will continue to run on hard surface roads only.
“We had three busses stuck this morning (Friday),” said Kracht.  “Nothing was serious.  We used the school messenger system to let parents of kids on those busses know what happened and that the bus was running late.”
The district works closely with Clark County in determining the road conditions.
“We always work with the county,” said Kracht.  “We don’t want the busses to get stuck or cut up the roads, which are so soft right now.”
Kracht said that the district will use the school messenger calls to let parents know when busses will resume their normal routes.
