Shots Fired At Keokuk High School-No Injuries

keokukKeokuk Police are investigating gunshots fired at the Keokuk High School around 8pm Thursday night.  No injuries were reported, and no arrest has been made. Clark County played a JV basketball game at Keokuk Thursday evening, but according to CCR-1 Athletic Director Jason Church, the game was over around 7:20 and the kids left shortly after. According to reports, there was a show choir practice taking place in the building at the time of the incident. One report says shots were fired at a door.

The K-Pride Facebook page had this message posted Friday morning:

I wanted to make sure everyone is on the same page as to what happened tonight at the high school. Around 8:00 p.m., it was reported that some shots were fired by the high school. The police were called, and responded. After the preliminary investigation it was evident that two gun shots hit the high school on the east side of the “A” wing as an apparent act of vandalism. Nobody was injured and all students and staff members that were in the building were asked to leave as a precautionary measure. It does not appear that anyone was targeted, as it was an isolated incident. There will be added police presence tomorrow in the building beginning early in the morning prior to school starting.
If you have any questions please call me.

Thanks, and have a great Friday.
