(Columbia, MO)—“Making the best better” for generations of Missouri 4-H’ers, Larry Young of Kahoka, Missouri was inducted into the Missouri 4-H Hall of Fame, August 9 at State Fair Community College.

Larry Young, owner and operator of Kahoka Meat Processors is very well known throughout Clark County and beyond. Larry is currently serving as Vice President of the Missouri Meat Processors Association, President of the Trinity Worship Center Board, and Kahoka City Alderman, as well as President of the local summer ball association. Larry has received the Blue and Gold Service Award and the Honorary FFA Chapter Degree, as well as being inducted into the Missouri Meat Processors Hall of Fame. For all of his titles and all of his accomplishments, one thing stands out about Larry Young- he believes in supporting and is dedicated to helping the youth of Clark County develop into the leaders of tomorrow. Larry has a very large heart and he goes out of his way to support all of the kids in the community. For more years than can be counted, Larry has sponsored trophies and prize money for 4-H and FFA members exhibiting in the Clark County Fair. For the last two years, Larry has donated his time to serve as a judge for our country cured hams project, spending time visiting with our members about what they have learned from their project and sharing with them from his wealth of knowledge. This past fall, Larry processed and cooked a whole hog free of charge for the hog roast held by the Clark County 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapter to raise money to replace the aging livestock barns on the Clark County Fairgrounds.
Larry Young is a wonderful example of the local businesses and community leaders in Clark County that see their gift of time, money, and support as a worthwhile investment in the youth of Clark County. On behalf of the Clark County 4-H Council and the Fox River Clovers 4-H Club, we are proud to have nominated Larry Young of Kahoka Meat Processors to the Missouri 4-H Hall of Fame.
