A solid second-half performance lifted the Clark County Indians to a 41-38 Clarence Cannon Conference win over Macon on Friday evening.
The Indians opened with a strong 15-point first quarter, then trailed 21-20 at the half.
Sam Wheeler scored the go-ahead bucket with 14 seconds remaining in the game.
Layne Sommers led the Indians with 14 points, followed by Wheeler’s 10 points. Gabe Hunziker finished with seven points. Carter Briscoe and Aaron Day had four points each, and Conner Pearl scored two points.
On Saturday, the Indians lost on the road at Keokuk, 57-37. The Chiefs outscored Clark County in every quarter.
Carter Briscoe led the Indians with 13 points. Aaron Day had eight, and Sam Wheeler and Gabe Hunziker had six point each. Layne Sommers and Eli Elam rounded out the scoring with two points each.
