Two Lady Indians turned in powerhouse performances on Friday evening, as Clark County hosted the Lady Birds of South Shelby.
Brooklyn Howe hit 10 field goals and went five for five at the free throw line for 25 Lady Indian points.
Alexis Ellison hit six two pointers and a trio of threes, plus one at the line for 22 points.
The first quarter was an up and down the floor shootout, with Clark County taking a 22-21 edge.
Both teams scored a strong 15 points in the second period, and Clark County held a one point lead at the half, 37-36.
A twenty point third quarter wasn’t enough to put the Lady Birds away, and after three quarters, Clark County led 57-54.
The Lady Indians spread 15 points over five players in the final quarter, finally pulling away from the pesky Lady Birds, to a 72-62 final.
In addition Howe’s 25 points and Ellison’s 22, Kiara Brunk scored nine points, and Darian Harper had eight. Elly Hamner added five, and Hope Ross scored two points. Delana Hess scored one point.
