On Tuesday evening, May 18, the Clark County R-1 High School held its Spring Concert and Music Awards program.
The evening opened with the CCR-1 Jazz Band playing “Whatever It Takes”, “Monday’s Child” and “Rent Party”.
The Chorus performed “Come Alive” from The Greatest Showman, “Sisi Ni Moja”, “The Lord Bless You and Keep You,” and finished with “80’s Dance Party”.
The Band played “National Emblem”, Led Zeppelin On Tour”, “Selections from Miss Siagon” and “To Challenge the Sky and Heavens Above”.
Throughout the concert, music director Mr. Bob Dooley announced music students that earned special honors during the school year.
District Choir members this year were Elle Franke, Kathrynn Franke, Wyatt Wagner, Katherine Marshall, Trenton Hardy and David Benjamin,
Conference choir members were Kathryn Schmitz, Shelbi Slater, Hanna Hill, Elle Franke, Katherine Marshall, Hailey Ray, David Benjamin, Donald Anderson, Trenton Hardy, Wyatt Wagner, Tyler Nelson, and Troy Stouder.
State Chorus contest Contest awards were presented to:
Bronze
Mixed Sextet-Elli Franke, Kathrynn Schmitz, Bree Church, Cheyanee Poje, Wyatt Wagner and Troy Stouder.
Mixed Double Quartet-Hanna Hill, Shelbi Slater, Katherine Marshall, Hailey Ray, David Benjamin, Tyler Nelson, Trenton Hardy and Wyatt Wagner
Earning a bronze award as soloists were Kathrynn Schmitz, David Benjamin, Donald Anderson, Elli Franke and Hailey Ray.
Silver Medal winners were: Vocal Solo-Shelbi Slater, Girls Sextet-Shelbi Slater, Kaylee Streit, Hannah Hill, Katherine Marshall, Peyton Peterson and Hailey Ray; Men’s Sextet-Trenton Hardy, Wyatt Wagner, Davide Benjamin, Donald Anderson, Tyler Nelson.
Gold Vocal Solo winners were Katherine Marshall, Wyatt Wagner and Trenton Hardy.
Instrumentalist named to the district band were Jacob Wegner-Trumpet and Sidney Brandon-Trombone.
