Wayne J Blum was presented a Quilt of Valor at his home by Cinda James, Mary Ann Barnes and Cheryl Buschling, members of the Sewcial Quilters of Clark County.
Blum entered the service is September, 1955, along with two of his neighbor boys, Albert Brewer and Bill Mohr. They took their basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, then advanced for training at Ft. Dix. N.J. Blum was then assigned to Ft. Riley, KS, to the First Division (the Big Red One).
While at Ft. Dix, he was able to spend his 20th birthday and New Year’s Eve in New York City.
Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Wayne served four years in the Army Reserve and took summer training at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
