The Clark County Lady Indians hosted Brookfield on Monday evening, September 20.
The Lady Bulldogs went down in order in the top of the first, with a strikeout sandwiched between to pop fly balls.
In the Lady Indian first, Alexis Ellison returned to action for Clark County, popping out in foul territory. Ally Fox singled, then stole second. Allie Hayden reached base on a dropped third pitch. Olivia Miller popped up, and Fox was thrown out at home.
Brookfield put a runner in scoring position in the second inning, but the Lady Indians didn’t give up the run.
In the Lady Indian second inning, Ashtyn Ebeling walked, and Blair Webster singled. Gloria Shannon was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Hannah Hill popped out to center field, and Ebeling scored after tagging up. Maggie Weaver, running as a courtesy runner for Webster, advanced to third. Erin Bash grounded into a double play, and Weaver was thrown out at home, but Clark County took a 1-0 lead.
Brookfield put a runner on base in the third, but she would be thrown out stealing third base.
Ellison singled to start the Clark County third inning, and then stole second.
Fox singled, moving Ellison to third base
Hayden’s sacrifice fly brought Ellison home for the only other Clark County run, as they won 2-0.
The Lady Indians had seven hits, led by three from Ally Fox.
Webster threw 71 pitches in seven innings, allowing only six hits.

On Saturday, the Lady Indians gave up a lead to lose to Salisbury 3-1, at the Paris Tournament.
Alexis Ellison was on the mound for Clark County Ellison allowed nine hits and three runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Hayden led with three hits in three at bats.
In their next game, Clark County out-hit the Lady Birds of South Shelby out-hit 12 to 11, but it wasn’t enough in an 8-5 loss on Saturday. The Lady Indians scored three runs in the fifth inning. Alexis Ellison, Olivia Miller, and Hanna Hill all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
The Lady Indians collected 12 hits on the day. Olivia Miller, Hannah Hill, Alexis Ellison, and Blari Webster all collected multiple hits for Clark County Lady Indians Varsity. Miller led Clark County Lady Indians Varsity with three hits in three at bats.
