Clark County will start 2023 with a new Prosecuting Attorney. On Friday, December 30, 2022, Lindsay Gravett of Lancaster was sworn in.
“I am from Lancaster, Missouri and have lived in Schuyler County, Missouri since the 3rd grade,” said Gravett. “My mother is originally from Schuyler County, Missouri and my dad is originally from Bloomfield, Iowa. It was my childhood dream to be an attorney.”
“I went to undergrad at Missouri Valley College on an athletic scholarship for golf where I majored in Political Science with a minor in Psychology. I graduated from Missouri Valley College in May of 2006. I took a year off after undergraduate school and worked at Peppard Law Office in Memphis, Missouri. I started law school at Thomas M. Cooley Law School (now called Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School) in September of 2007. I graduated from law school in September, 2010. I took the Missouri bar examination in February, 2011 and was sworn in as a Missouri Licensed Attorney on April 20, 2011. I have been a licensed practicing attorney since that time. I became the Schuyler County Prosecuting Attorney in January, 2013 and have served that position since that time. I could not ask for a more rewarding occupation than being the elected prosecuting attorney in Schuyler County and now the appointed Prosecuting Attorney in Clark County,” she added. “I am passionate about this position, the criminal justice system and the administration of justice. I look forward to serving the residents of Clark County for the next four years and appreciate being given this opportunity.”
In my spare time, I enjoy hunting, fishing, golfing, reading and spending time with my nieces, friends and family.
