Parker Named Varsity Baseball Coach
Clark County R-1 Schools is happy to announce the hiring of Shaun Parker to helm the Indian baseball team.
“I’m extremely excited to be returning to baseball,” Parker said.
Coach Parker had previously spent eight years as an assistant baseball coach, helping to build the program from a start up to a district championship in a few short years. Parker will continue to serve as the Indian Softball skipper as he takes to the diamond for his fourth campaign this fall. Shaun helped guide the Lady Indians to a Class 2 District title in 2021.
“I left so I could learn to be a head coach with the softball program. This is a good time to return,” he said.
Additionally, Ethan Horton has agreed to return for a third season as the assistant baseball coach. His knowledge of returning squad members and outstanding player relationship skills will be a great asset for Coach Parker as he assumes command of the program.
Coach Parker replaces Jerry Jerome who resigned as coach after 10 seasons with the program.

Shaun Parker has been named the new Varsity Indian Baseball Coach.
“We need to pick up right where we left off. We lost three seniors, but we have enough talent returning and coming up that we plan on competing for a district title again this year,” he said.
Organized practice will start in January, but Parker know a lot of the players work hard year-round.
“It’s not uncommon to see them at the batting cage working out. So many of these kids have a common mindset to work hard,” he said.
“I’m just overwhelmed to be given the opportunity,” he added.
