Clark County FFA Chapter member, Emma Pitford, was selected to perform at the National FFA Talent Competition. Pitford will take the stage October 23-26 at the 2024 National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis.
Emma Pitford is the daughter of Travis and Jessica Pitford. Emma is excited to be the first member from the Clark County FFA Chapter to be selected for this honor.
Emma’s talent is hula hooping. Emma started hula hooping as her talent for the Miss America Scholarship Program. She was able to perform this talent on the Miss Missouri stage as Miss Northeast Missouri’s Teen. She will have the opportunity again in June as Miss Clark County’s Teen. Emma promotes heart health with her community service initiative Hula Hoop 4 Heart Health and has raised almost $700 dollars for the American Heart Association.
Emma submitted an application along with a recorded audition of her hula hoop talent and was one of nearly 50 acts from the country that was chosen to perform during the general sessions, meal functions, and receptions at the convention.
Each act will compete in three rounds and be judged on their preparation, delivery, engagement, entertainment value, and technical ability. The winner will receive $250.
The National FFA Organization has more than 1,027,200 student members that are a part of 9,235 local FFA chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
