Kahoka Man Seriously Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash Near North La Plata Junction
MACON, Mo. (AP) — A two-vehicle collision at the North La Plata Junction left one man seriously injured Friday evening, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:19 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 63 and Lantern Street. Authorities said a northbound 2018 Cadillac turned into the path of a southbound 2006 Jeep.
The Cadillac’s driver, a 66-year-old man from Kahoka, Missouri, was not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash and sustained serious injuries. He was transported by Macon County Ambulance to Northeast Regional Hospital for treatment.
The Jeep’s driver, a 24-year-old woman from La Plata, Missouri, was wearing a safety device and was not reported injured. Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by Stills Wrecker.
The incident was investigated by Corporal Borgmeyer of Troop B, with assistance from the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, La Plata Police and Fire Departments, and local ambulance services.
The crash remains under investigation
