The Clark County Health Department will hold a Men’s Wellness Clinic on Wednesday, March 12,2025 from 8 AM to 3:30 PM, with physician available for exam. The screening will include a blood draw for prostate-specific antigen (PSA). The PSA results will be forwarded to your primary physician. Prostate cancer can often be found early by testing the amount of PSA in the blood. If the results are abnormal, further testing is needed to diagnose cancer. The American Cancer Society recommends that health care professionals offer the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test yearly, beginning at age 50. African American men and men who have a father, brother, or son diagnosed with prostate cancer should begin annual screenings at age 45. Men who have a PSA of less than 2.5 ng/ml may only need to be retested every 2 years. Medicare will cover this screening test one time annually. There will be a $10 donation accepted from non-Medicare individuals to help cover lab fees. Visit the American Cancer Society Website at www.cancer.org for more information about prostate cancer and recommended screenings. Call 660-727-2356 to make an appointment for your annual prostate cancer screening.
