Monroe City Ends Clark County’s Season in Class 3 District 6 Semifinal

Palmyra, Mo. — The Clark County Indians saw their season come to a close Tuesday night, falling to the Monroe City Panthers 55-41 in the Class 3 District 6 Tournament semifinals. Despite a hard-fought effort, the Indians couldn’t overcome Monroe City’s early lead and strong defensive presence.
The Panthers wasted no time setting the tone, jumping out to a 15-7 lead in the first quarter. Clark County responded in the second behind the shooting of Grayden Kleine, who knocked down a pair of three-pointers and finished the night with 10 points. But Monroe City continued to control the tempo, taking a 31-20 lead into halftime.
Harrison Parker led the Indians in scoring with 13 points, including an early three-pointer and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Chayse Webster provided an early spark with a basket in the first quarter, while Lukas Weaver and Corrick Hunziker each went 2-for-2 from the line.
Clark County battled throughout the second half, keeping pace in the third quarter as both teams scored 13 points. However, Monroe City’s balanced attack and late-game composure sealed the victory. The Panthers outscored the Indians 11-7 in the fourth to secure their spot in the district championship.
With the loss, Clark County finishes the season with a 10-16 record.
